finite groups whose minimal subgroups are weakly h*-subgroups

let $g$ be a finite group‎. ‎a subgroup‎ ‎$h$ of $g$ is called an $mathcal h $ -subgroup in‎ ‎$g$ if $n_g (h)cap h^gleq h$ for all $gin‎ ‎g$. a subgroup $h$ of $g$ is called a weakly‎ $mathcal h^ast $-subgroup in $g$ if there exists a‎ ‎subgroup $k$ of $g$ such that $g=hk$ and $hcap‎ ‎k$ is an $mathcal h$-subgroup in $g$. we‎ ‎investigate the structure of the finite group $g$ under the‎ ‎assump...

A Characterization of Minimal Locally Finite Varieties

In this paper we describe a one–variable Mal′cev–like condition satisfied by any locally finite minimal variety. We prove that a locally finite variety is minimal if and only if it satisfies this Mal′cev–like condition and it is generated by a strictly simple algebra which is nonabelian or has a trivial subalgebra. Our arguments show that the strictly simple generator of a minimal locally finit...

Definable choice for a class of weakly o-minimal theories

Given an o-minimal structure M with a group operation, we show that for a properly convex subset U , the theory of the expanded structure M′ = (M, U) has definable Skolem functions precisely when M′ is valuational. As a corollary, we get an elementary proof that the theory of any such M′ does not satisfy definable choice. §

The Schröder-Bernstein property for weakly minimal theories

For a countable, weakly minimal theory T , we show that the SchröderBernstein property (any two elementarily bi-embeddable models are isomorphic) is equivalent to each of the following: 1. For any U -rank-1 type q ∈ S(acl(∅)) and any automorphism f of the monster model C, there is some n < ω such that f(q) is not almost orthogonal to q ⊗ f(q)⊗ . . .⊗ fn−1(q); 2. T has no infinite collection of ...

New spectra of strongly minimal theories in finite languages

We describe strongly minimal theories Tn with finite languages such that in the chain of countable models of Tn, only the first n models have recursive presentations. Also, we describe a strongly minimal theory with a finite language such that every non-saturated model has a recursive presentation.
